The Ruger Red Label III is the latest generation of Ruger’s traditional over-and-under shotgun design. Chambered in 20 gauge, this 30-inch-barreled configuration combines classic walnut-and-blued-steel construction with the refined fit and finish associated with a traditional sporting over/under. The Red Label III is produced for Ruger by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company (CSMC).

The shotgun is built around a precision-machined alloy-steel receiver with a finely polished finish. Its locking system is hand fitted, while the alloy-steel barrel assembly is brazed and topped with a matted ventilated rib. The barrels feature a .615-inch bore diameter and a smooth-plated interior suitable for use with steel shot.

The stock is crafted from walnut and finished in a traditional sporting profile. Ruger specifies approximately 24 lines-per-inch checkering, a neutral cast, a 14.5-inch listed length of pull, 1.5-inch drop at comb, and 2.5-inch drop at heel. The combination of walnut furniture, polished receiver surfaces, and blued barrels gives the Red Label III the restrained appearance associated with classic American sporting shotguns.

A single inertia-operated trigger controls the over-and-under action, and the tang-mounted safety incorporates a first-shot barrel selector. The shotgun has a 3-inch chamber and is compatible with both 2¾-inch and 3-inch 20-gauge shotshells. Capacity is two rounds.

This 30-inch configuration measures approximately 47.5 inches overall and weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. Ruger supplies five interchangeable Tru-Choke-style choke tubes: Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. A premium fitted case is also included with the factory configuration.
